PGF honors Katarzyna Dziedzic, Miss International Canada 2003, as its person of the month for August 2003.

The twenty-three year old University of Windsor, Canada student was born in Wroclaw, Poland and came to Canada with her parents, sister, and two brothers when she was ten years old. A former member of the Polish Girl Scouts (Harcerstwo), Miss Dziedzic is a strong believer in an individual’s ability to make a difference. Miss Dziedzic volunteers at a home for seniors and does volunteer work with the Children’s Aid Society in Windsor, New Beginnings, the Children’s Charity, Good Fellowship, and Hospice. She is also a member of the Marketing Society and Inner Tube Water Polo League.

When asked what she will focus during her reign, Miss Dziedzic answered: “I love the beauty of nature and feel that we as a community should be more aware of our environment and our natural resources, which we need to take care of for a better future. I would like to expand support for a world free from prejudice and discrimination.” She is proud to represent Canada, feeling that “Canada is an excellent example of peace, where people of different colors and religions live together in harmony.” Miss Dziedzic believes becoming Miss Universe Canada will allow her to express her views and concerns.

We honor Miss Dziedzic for her success on so many levels. Her academic achievement, volunteerism, family focus, and support for a multicultural world free from discrimination and prejudice. These are successes and goals PGF identifies with and believes in.
Miss Dziedzic was crowned Miss International Canada 2003 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 18, 2003. She will compete in the Miss International Pageant in October in Japan.

Miss Dziedzic is majoring in criminology, with a minor in sociology and will be entering the University of Windsor Law School in 2004.
